Making clubs since 1999
Cobbleford Workshop began in a farmhouse barn and moved to West Beaver Avenue when the barn got too cold. We fit clubs patiently, build them carefully, and repair the ones you thought were finished.
Peg Alvarado learned clubmaking from a retired professional in Altoona who taught her to measure twice, drill once and never to sell a club she would not play herself. In 1999 she set up a bench in the barn on Cobbleford Road in Pine Grove Mills and began building clubs for people in the valley.
The barn had no heat and the customers kept coming, so in 2004 the workshop moved to a storefront on West Beaver Avenue. The name came along, and so did the bench, which still has the burn mark from the first epoxy mishap.
Today Peg, Hollis and Wren run three benches in the same rooms. The work is mostly the same. The room is warmer.
Four kinds of fitting, plus building and repair. Every service has its own page.

| Look | We watch you swing and look at the clubs you carry before touching anything. |

| Measure | Height, wrist-to-floor, hand size and the loft, lie and length of your current set. |
| Try | One change at a time with the monitor running. You hit, we adjust. |
| Make | If you want clubs built, we build them to the final specification, then check them against it. |
Peg spent a whole afternoon with me and never once mentioned a price until I asked. The irons she built are the best I have owned.

I brought in my father's old irons and Hollis brought them back to life. They are beautiful and they work.
